David brings 20+ years experience in assisting clients with estate planning, probate and Legacy Coaching. His breadth of expertise also includes real estate and corporate counsel. As the head of the firm, David is a natural born leader and counselor. He has the ability to provide intelligent legal advice while also making people feel extremely relaxed and comfortable in his presence. This stems from his various near-death experiences and his long-term involvement in skiing, meditation, dance, art, personal development, music, martial arts, and wilderness immersion.
David graduated in 1992 with honors from Touro Law Center in Huntington, NY. He was Founder and first President of the Touro Dispute Resolution Society, which continues to provide mediation training and certification to law students since 1990. His degrees include Juris Doctor from Touro Law Center and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy & Comparative Religion from The Colorado College, as well as Business & Environmental Studies from Cornell University. He maintains several memberships including the American Bar Association, Colorado Bar Association, Boulder County Bar Association, as well as the Boulder County Estate Planning Council for which he served as President in 2008. David is intimately involved with his community, having served on several non-profit boards including Eldora Special Recreation Ski Program (now Ignite Action Sports), the Boulder Jewish Community Foundation, his neighborhood volunteer fire department, and currently as Co Founder and President and of J-SUP: Boulder Law Center for the Unhoused.
David is also involved in the entrepreneurial community. He has assisted numerous startups with strategic planning and legal counsel. He is the Co Founder and President of Lyconos, Inc., a Boulder-based startup developing a platform to enable people to manage their legal and financial life while expanding personal development through a coaching model based on the 4Ys: Generosity, Security, Legacy and Vitality.
In 2020, after years of dreaming about it, David established his Legacy on the Slopes program as an opportunity to discuss the meaning and importance of legacy with other passionate people. In addition to “legaski” days at various resorts in Colorado, David hosts lunches, walks, hikes, and rides to introduce people to the 4Ys.
Beyond his healthy hopeful vision for the planet, David’s main focus is family, including his wife, two daughters, and Samoa (the adventure cat).
Lee is an avid ice and rock climber and outdoor enthusiast. After years working with The North Face as a copywriter and photo editor, Lee developed an interest in law while helping draft agreements for his family’s lake-front property in Canada. As a long-time photographer with a degree in journalism from CU-Boulder, Lee is an intuitive organizer with a keen eye for details. When Lee is not busy helping David keep the law firm humming, he can be found climbing, exploring, and photographing in the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
Tammy has worked for David since 2004. She obtained her paralegal certificate from the University of Colorado, Denver many, many years ago and has over 30 years of experience in the legal field. Tammy uses her legal experience to assist David in all aspects of his estate planning practice. She volunteers for Longmont Friends of Feral and Abandoned Cats and assists the non-profit every week with feeding and controlling the homeless cat population. Tammy and her husband, Jim, are avid players of Pokemon Go and can be seen wandering the streets of Boulder and Longmont trying to “catch ‘em all.” Go Team Valor!
